7th July - Leicester Tournament

SU came runners up in a five game tournament. A round robin of teams consisted of :

Sikh Union Nottingham won the tournament by winning all their games.


Bedford Tournament:

In a 6 team round robin contest with teams from Sikh Union Nottingham, Slough, Bedford, Southampton, SU Coventry & London, the results were:

Birmingham Tournament: 28th July 2002

The annual Birmingham tournament held at King Edward school invited 5 mens teams in a round robin compatation. Also arranged was atriangular match for the U16 teams which included Sikh Union Coventry, Barford Tigers, and Wolverhampton.

The SU youngsters did exceptionally well to get to the final only to come runners up after loosing to a golden goal in extra time. They were very unlucky as they struck the post twice.

The 1st team also reached the final against panthers after winning 4 games and loosing only one. This also went into extra time with the scores at 0-0. Only a super flick roofing Unions goal decieded the match. This was Unions 3rd runners up spot this year..

Leicester Tournment - Sunday 2nd July 2000

Sikh Union 0 Khalsa 1
Sikh Union beat SU (Nottingham) in the semi final 2-0 to reach the final of the Leicester tournment. A close final which could have gone either way. Sabi Dhanjal hit the crossbar which could have provided a well desverved victory, but Khalsa converted a short corner in the last 10 min. to seal their victory. Well done to Sikh Union.

A second final in as many weeks for Sikh Union Cov. They came through a tough round to beat Leamington in the Semi final , only to set up a repeat of the Leicester tournment final against Khalsa. With few chances for both sides khalsa converted a penality flick 3 minutes from time to beat SU again by a single goal.. Well done to Sikh Union for reaching another final..

With 16 good quality teams at the tournment Union qualified through their group as runners up.
