What a lovely day it was. The day was bright and sunny. The sports activities started at 9.30am with football been the first to start, followed by track events, tug of war, volleyball and hockey. There were over eight hundred people taking part in the sports activities on the day.
The stall holders very busy all day. Some serving delicious Indian food, other selling art and crafts, books, bangles etc. Langar (free food) was served all day provided by all the gurdwaras in the city whom we thank immensely and all the sewedars (volunteers) who served the langar. This year we saw a lot of charities participating in the vaisakhi sports day and we like to sat a big thank you to The British Lung Foundation, Diabetes UK, Prostate Cancer Support Group and the National Blood Service. The event is made possible by the very generous donation of the sangat. The official sponsor this year was Bansal Estates ltd.
